4 "SpeedDial" Options for Firefox

For thumbnailed pages, SpeedDial and FastDial (pictured) are both nice options. They don't build your pages automatically, but they're both highly customizable. Right click a tab, send it to your dial page. Easy.
I prefer SpeedDial for its support of hotkeys: ctrl+# opens the page in SpeedDial tab, ctrl+shift+# opens it in a new one. FastDial does allow more thumbnails on the page, and it also lets you drag your pages to reorder them, which is handy.
Autodial works, but it looks like Hell. Imagine your most visited pages as a big pot of jumbalaya. Autodial dips a ladle in and flings it at your face. For some reason, left and right clicking both activate your links - I was hoping to be able to right-click and pull up an options menu, but was thwarted.
If you want to configure it, you'll have to venture into the about:config page and hack away.
If you prefer the DIY approach, give Autohome a look. The name is a little misleading, as the auto ends with the letter o in its name. The extension adds a home icon in your status bar that allows you to embed a link to the current page in your Autohome. It supports grouping by folders, and the look is fully customizable if you're willing to edit the CSS and XSL.
So, just how good at time waster games are you? Think you've got the stuff? Well, The World's Hardest Game 2.0 doesn't think you do.
Yes, amazingly, it's possible to have a sequel to a game called "The World's Hardest Game". It doesn't seem logically possible, since if the first one was actually the world's hardest, how could another one come along and share the moniker? It made me doubt the name in the first place. That is, until I tried the game.
The mechanics of the game are very simple. You are a small red square, ...

I've been using both and I like fastdial more since I could add more websites. But when the FF 3x came out, fastdial became more of a slowdial.
I think I'll try speeddial one more time.

If you want a speed dial like feature without using an extension, try Symbaloo http://www.symbaloo.com/ . I've been using it for several months and I love it. I have it set as my start page.

I was using fastdial but I started getting weird error messages which I'm sure could be fixed but they frustrated me.
I switched to speeddial and am much happier (so many more options). Actually as for "limited" number of pages, I turned on the groups feature which makes everything so much better organized.

At least you're getting error messages. It's installed, but evidently one of my extensions is blocking it. /shrug

There is a web-based speed dial which provides the same functionality but allows you to access it from any pc, no need to install, just set it as your bookmark.

The simplest one to use is SuperDial.org - you don't even have to give them your email address, and you can choose the icons, names and links yourself by right-clicking.
