RuneScape - Time Waster

So, I am guessing that pretty much everyone out there in Internet land has played RuneScape, except for me. But just in case you forgot about it or, like me, you just woke up from a long internet gaming nap, let's have a look-see.

RuneScape bills itself as a massive online adventure game. In theory, it could be a lot like World of Warcraft; except, it's not. For one thing it runs in a tiny window in your browser and you don't have to load any software to play (you do need to have Java installed though). In that sense, it's much more portable than something like WoW.

And if you're used to a really pretty game, you won't find it here. The graphics are ok at best. And the story progresses with a lot of read this paragraph and click here to continue type stuff.

But, if you are looking for a time waster that's a throwback to what games used to be, RuneScape is where you will find it. It moves so slowly you can definitely keep it running while you are doing other things. I played for about an hour while going about my business and found it relatively enjoyable.

PLEASE GET OFF THE INTERNETS IMMEDIATLY. okay enough flaming, seriously, runescape is crap, it's really sad because the morons who play this shit game think it's all the world has to offer of free mmo's, there are a million far better, and worlds better looking, ones out there, and, most importantly, they run better because they aren't JAVA GAMES.

Okay have fun morons, this game truly is a time waster in the absolute sence of the word. You will become a less intelligent person by ever trying it.

If you don't like it, that doesn't mean that the whole world shouldn't. I have tried to play it 2-3 times, but never stayed longer than 20 minutes. It's just not for me. But I don't go around and insult other people who like it, saying they are idiots and morons.

But there is no point explaining that everybody likes different things to shallow people like you...

There is a version with better graphics. Just select the High Detail option. If you pay for the game, you can even use it in full screen, which is kinda cool.

All by all, the game isn't that bad. Atleast it's not one of those 5 million or something WoW clones.

I play Runescape and love it. I find it a very educational game and its not one of those educational games that almost bores you to death. It has got more. It is a complicated game but that's nice. Its a very challenging game too. they are also very strict when it comes to swearing or breaking the rules.

Runescape has actually taught me allot of things even life lessons like looking after pets and the stock market.

Runescape also has full screen and much better graphics now. And it does have a free version unlike WOW who charged an absolute fortune.

Featured Time Waster

Civiballs is a beautiful, soothing physics puzzle Time Waster

I have an absolute weakness for physics games, and while Civiballs isn't the strongest physics-based game, what it lacks in the physics department it makes up for a few times over in style and fun.

In Civiballs, you are presented with a few colored balls, and your goal is to get those balls into the same-colored urn on the level. The "civi" part of Civiballs is that there are 3 sets of levels to play, each representing a different civilization. While the civilization doesn't affect gameplay, the artwork for each level is beautifully themed to it's appropriate era.

To play the game, you are given only one tool - a sword with which to cut the chains that are holding the balls. The puzzle part of the game is in figuring out what order, and with what timing to cut each chain. Do it right, and all the right balls end up in the right urns, with no stray balls entering an urn (a no-no). Do it wrong, and you get to start over again.

Civiballs is not terribly deep on gameplay; the entire game can be completed in about 15 minutes. But if you enjoy this type of game, it will be a very enjoyable 15 minutes.
