FormatFactory Kicks Media Conversion Ass and Takes Names
What could be better than a program that will convert audio, video, and image files from and to just about any format you can think of? How about one that does it all batch-style with minimal clicking? FormatFactory doesn't care what files you want to swap in what order, just feed it your sources and watch it go to work. Unlike a lot of similar apps, this one doesn't limit you to only video or audio, or even to one file at a time.
Conversion speed is decent, and the overall quality is damn good. JPEG to ICO conversion was a real surprise, and worked much better than anticipated (it's pretty freaking hard to get a 24 bit image to look good at 16x16 pixels, but FormatFactory did one hell of a job). You can even tag, rotate, and resize your images on the fly.
Yes, the interface is a quarter past ugly, but who the hell watches a batch conversion app while it works anyways?

With Halloween fast approaching, it's a great time to get in some practice defending your territory against zombies. In Graveyard Shift, you take aim at zombies and other creepy-crawlies, blasting them into splatters of cartoony green guts. It's a casual first-person shooter, and it's very easy to get the hang of - use the mouse to aim, click to fire. Graveyard Shift has at least 15 levels, and it might even have some secret stages I haven't unlocked yet.
They key to getting good at Graveyard Shift is learning to use ...

The worst part is, the GUI is in some foreign language. English only speakers may have trouble.

You can change it, several languages are supported. Opciones->Idioma->English

Thanks for the heads up on this one, wish there was a Mac version too, but I guess we can't have it all.

If only it could convert more disk images (*.nrg, *.bin/cue...), it would really be the ultimate solution! Nevertheless, its awesome!

What I wait is program that can use ATI graphic card to convert video to H264, bypassing CPU. The bundle ATI program has ugly interface.

I've been trying like mad to *find* the damn ATI converter and everywhere I go I find instructions that don't work for me. They say to launch Catalyst Control Center then choose "AVIVO Converter" from the "What do you want to do?" list, but I don't have it on the list! I have an x1850, so it should be supported, but for the life of me I just can't find a source for the program! If you read this, could you tell me where you got it?

Where do I choose the codec for AVI?

There's no codec for AVI. AVI is a container :)
BoxOfSnoo said 12:30PM on 7-06-2008
...Which is why you need to specify a codec!
Go to All to Avi and choose Output Settings... the default is MPEG4

Just worried about where to find a good video converter for my iphone, then saw this one. I managed to test it with the other one, called sth like Videora, both do the same thing. However:
FF: I am really impressive about its "swallowness"....it just sucks all my videos and converted them into 480x320; quality is nice;
Videroa: It could adjust better quality but too much adverts...
So nice FF!
