Yahoo! Mail adds @ymail and @rocketmail
There are plenty of ways to get a custom email address. You can sign up for service with Mail.com and choose from a number of custom domains. Or you can register a domain and use Google Apps to link it with an email account for free. But if you're a Yahoo! Mail fan, you might find that getting the domain name you want isn't the hard part. It's getting the prefix.About 266 million people use Yahoo! Mail, which means the odds of getting an address like john@yahoo.com are pretty poor at this point. Today Yahoo! made things a bit easier by opening up two new domains, @ymail.com and @rocketmail.com.
If RocketMail sounds familiar, that's because it's the name of a company that Yahoo! purchased in 1997. The first version of Yahoo! Mail was built on technology developed by RocketMail earlier in the 1990s. You can snag an account using one of the new domains by visiting the new signup page.
With Halloween fast approaching, it's a great time to get in some practice defending your territory against zombies. In Graveyard Shift, you take aim at zombies and other creepy-crawlies, blasting them into splatters of cartoony green guts. It's a casual first-person shooter, and it's very easy to get the hang of - use the mouse to aim, click to fire. Graveyard Shift has at least 15 levels, and it might even have some secret stages I haven't unlocked yet.
They key to getting good at Graveyard Shift is learning to use ...

I login with my rocketmail account, and I can't do anything. I try to get a new account, and it still won't let me get it. :(

rocketmail, it was my very first email account in 1995. It was very simple, fast, easy to use, no spam mail back then. It was in frame and used javascript only.

I understand ymail.com, but why rocketmail.com? if they go away from word yahoo in the name, why don't they offer flickr.com instead of rocketmail? That would be cool.
i was lucky to get my yahoo account in 1999 and got what i wanted ....

I was excited to be able obtain some common names I use all on the Ymail domain. I set up 10 different accounts, verified all of them using alternate email addresses, etc. 9 out of 10 ymail accounts do not work. Continually tells me that I have the wrong password. I went back in to try and reset them up but I am told the name is already in use.
Talked to friends who are having a similar experience.
Too bad...I have really liked Yahoo over the years, but my experiences with Yahoo services of late is leading me to use Google services almost exclusively in this product line.

I set up 10 new Ymail domain email accounts...excited to get the names I have always wanted on email accounts. I verified all of the names through my alternate email accounts and received the verification confirmation numbers. Nine out of ten new accounts do not work. I continually get an error message for the wrong password. I attempted to re-setup the accounts without success.
Extremely disappointing. I have long been a believer in Yahoo and their product offerings...this latest Yahoo disappointment is just one more reason to migrate to Google products and offerings.

Does anyone have any idea why they choose to promote the new mail domains with images associated with an accused pedophile? Is that the kind of client they want to attract? Kind of gives a whole new - and very sick - meaning to "user"
