Inspect your PC with Windows Inspection Tool Set

Windows Inspection Tool
Windows Inspection Tool Set is an open source utility that does exactly what the name suggests: It provides you with a series of tools for inspecting your Windows operating system. Want to know more about your processor, BIOS, or RAM usage? WiTS can handle that. Want to know how many processes you're running, or how long it's been since your last reboot? No problem.

But that's just the tip of the iceberg. WiTS also includes a task manager, a security manager that lets you set user permissions, a file system tool that gives you detailed information about local and remote disks, and a network utility that shows a ton of info about your internet connections and network hardware.

It's been a few years since we first looked at WiTS. In that time the program has moved from version 1.05 all the way up to version 2.1. The utility has picked up a ton of bug fixes ans a few new features like:
  • Ability to export your data to a file
  • Automatic checks for software updates
  • Added a user command line
  • Added BIOS information to system view
  • Shows kernel driver information
There are plenty of tools out there that can handle some of the tasks WiTS performs. But there are few apps with so many useful features bundled together.

You bounce around picking up gems and talking to the denizens of 'Level Upland'. Eventually you feel tired and head back to ...
