NewsGator releases FeedDemon 2.7: Desktop RSS reader
NewsGator has released an updated version of FeedDemon, the company's desktop RSS reader for Windows. FeedDemon 2.7 features a ton of bug fixes, a handful of new features, and best of all, it's still free. NewsGator used to charge for its desktop reader, but starting with FeedDemon 2.6 and NetNewsWire 3.1 for Mac the company started offering desktop clients for free.
Here are just a few of the changes in FeedDemon 2.7:
-
Quicker navigation of the subscription tree
-
Subscribe to multiple feeds at once from the "find feeds" menu
-
Copy a multi-line URL into the address bar and it will be shortened to one line
-
Support for multiple enclosures in a single post
Note that the FeedDemon home page still says the latest version is 2.6. But if you click the download link you should get FeedDemon 2.7.

With Halloween fast approaching, it's a great time to get in some practice defending your territory against zombies. In Graveyard Shift, you take aim at zombies and other creepy-crawlies, blasting them into splatters of cartoony green guts. It's a casual first-person shooter, and it's very easy to get the hang of - use the mouse to aim, click to fire. Graveyard Shift has at least 15 levels, and it might even have some secret stages I haven't unlocked yet.
They key to getting good at Graveyard Shift is learning to use ...

I posted this yesterday on Lifehacker, but I'll post my thoughts again:
'I'm tired of all these RSS Feed posts, so I'm going to try one out, starting with this one [ReadAir]. Any other suggestions?'
So, I tried out ReadAir and it was pretty cool. It was buggy, though, so I googled it up and, lo and behold, I ran into this.
...which I'm actually typing this comment from. I like it, a lot.

As I mentioned in the article, you have to click the download link to get the new version. For some reason they haven't changed the web page yet, but the download button is linked to the latest version.

Posting this comment from WITHIN NewsGator...and a warning that as of RIGHT NOW! the Check for New Version under the HELP menu doesn't detect the new version either.

I also noticed that FileHippo had it available for download yesterday:
http://www.filehippo.com/download_feed_demon
I thought it was a bit odd that FileHippo had it before NewsGator made any kind of announcement about it. I wasn't sure if FileHippo was pulling my leg, so I ended up downloadin 2.7 from NewsGator.

Just wanted to apologize for the confusion about the new version of FeedDemon - it's a long story, but it's entirely my fault.
Version 2.7 is now correctly identified on our site, in the release notes, and by the "check for new version" feature.
