Hot on the heels of the del.icio.us beta plugin for Firefox 3 beta, Yahoo! has released a beta plugin for Internet Explorer. While Firefox is pretty popular these days, we're pretty sure there are still more people using the IE6 or IE7 browser that came with their computer than a beta version of the open source Firefox browser. Which is to say, seriously, Yahoo! is just now getting around to this?
The Internet Explorer plugin packs most of the features of the Firefox version. That means you can search and browse bookmarks from your sidebar, view recent activity, or tag pages with a button in your browser toolbar. The plugin works with IE6, IE7, and IE8 and runs on Windows XP and Vista.
This plugin is being released as a pubic beta, which means some features may change before the final release.

Yeah, like probably about 85% of users?
IE7/IE8 aren't too bad, and at least IE8 supports web standards. I actually like some of the features that IE includes, that I've seen usually perform a bit better than FF.
I don't understand why FF users have the need to barge in any IE articles and make fun of the browser. If you don't like it, don't use it.
Oh, and nice throwing in that piece of spam in your comment.

Actually IE7 and ( suck pretty much just as bad as the previous iterations.
And yes, I have tried out both.
In my experience IE8 offers little improvement over 7 and pales in comparison to FF3 (yes, even beta5, which I use as my default browser.)
And IE8 only passes the Acid2 test when it is done on the official domain, hmmm, suspect?

I was just about to convert back to FF as I was longing for the ability to have a dynamic toolbar and shared bookmarks using this addon. It was if they read my mind. Now I don't have to give up my IE, which after switching back to FF ever so briefly, confirmed it as my desired choice - especially after customizing with inline spell check and inline search among other things.
