Xoopit adds pretty picture previews to Gmail
The basic concept is that your email inbox is a more useful social networking tool than Facebook, MySpace, or other services, but web-based email clients generally don't present the same kind of tools for sorting through your rich media content that you can find on the other sites.
The Xoopit plugin is currently available for Firefox 1.5 and newer, and works with Gmail only. In the future, Xoopit plans to add support for Yahoo! Mail, Hotmail, AOL Mail and other services. Xoopit is in private beta,

I don't know if this is a labor of love or merely the brainchild of four very gifted games designers, but Level Up is a really weird mash-up of gaming elements that you have probably never seen in a Flash game before.
Let's start with the premise itself: Groundhog Day meets Memento. The game experience revolves around 'days': you explore the world and the clock slowly ticks towards the evening. You bounce around picking up gems and talking to the denizens of 'Level Upland'. Eventually you feel tired and head back to ...

Well I signed up... I think they named it wrong... it should be stoopit instead of xoopit... this is useless for anyone who isn't a 13 year old girl and does not do anything but slow gmail down by showing pictures I don't care to see.

What kind of stxoopit joke is this asking for passwords to people's email account?!? Ain't all that funny, even on April's Fool Day.

Hi, this is JK, one of Xoopit’s founders. We’ve seen the comments regarding email passwords and privacy issues here and elsewhere. You can think of Xoopit as a mail client, which makes it possible for you to access your mail data. We use industry best practices to secure our service and encrypt your password and have rigorous internal policies on the same.
We put up a very frank blog post yesterday on how we manage your data.

Please comment or email me if you would like to have a further conversation on this.

Standards or no standards, servers get compromised all the time. You don't really expect people to give you their passwords do you? Look at Remember the Milk, they have plug-ins that work in/with gmail but don't ask for the password.
I think you guys need to rethink this and get back to us.
