Google revamps privacy portal

Google's Privacy Center (http://www.google.com/intl/en/privacy.html), a website dedicated to explaining Google's privacy policies and how it uses customer information for specific Google services has received an update. The new site includes YouTube videos created by the Google team explaining various privacy terms and practices and direct links to the privacy policies for various Google services. So if you click on, "Calendar," you get a page that displays any specific privacy policies that apply to Google Calendar, in addition to the standard Google Privacy Policy (http://www.google.com/privacypolicy.html). Yay for corporate transparency!

Street View gets more cities

A month after adding 12 new cities to Street View, Google has just added 13 more and a national park. They have also expanded their coverage in 6 existing cities. So residents or visitors to Austin, Cleveland (or "The Cleve" as they say on 30 Rock), Tampa, and Spokane -- just to name a few -- can now enjoy panaramoic

Get rid of Google Calendar Spam

Since clogging up our inboxes isn't enough, spammers have resorted to adding spam to Google Calendars via a new event invitation. The "event" is actually just a spam message. Ew. Google's help forums point out how to solve the problem: Under calendar settings in the general tab, select "no" next to the label that says, "automatically add invitations to my calendar." You'll have to approve invitation requests manually, but you won't wind up with a plea to send money to the former crowned prince of Nigeria next to your dentist appointment.
