Spice up your Linux desktop with AWN
Over the past year or so, there has been an explosion of eye-candy type apps for Linux. With show stoppers such as Compiz Fusion, nerds have plenty to grin about these days.With Avant Window Navigator, you can have a beautiful dock on your system, similar to the one in Mac OS X. AWN is very themeable and customizable, with many animations and applets available. And hey, it's pretty! Unlike other dock clones, AWN is very simple and intuitive. Users can simply drag-and-drop any application short cut to the dock, just like in OSX.
AWN is a free download, and installs very easily on Ubuntu thanks to this DEB package. AWN is only available for Ubuntu, so users of other distros will need to compile it themselves.

With Halloween fast approaching, it's a great time to get in some practice defending your territory against zombies. In Graveyard Shift, you take aim at zombies and other creepy-crawlies, blasting them into splatters of cartoony green guts. It's a casual first-person shooter, and it's very easy to get the hang of - use the mouse to aim, click to fire. Graveyard Shift has at least 15 levels, and it might even have some secret stages I haven't unlocked yet.
They key to getting good at Graveyard Shift is learning to use ...

Foresight Linux also includes Avant Window Navigator. Foresight 1.4 users just need to do a
sudo conary update avant-window-navigator
The upcoming Foresight Linux 2 release (currently in alpha testing) includes AWN installed (but not enabled) by default. Just go to Applications -> Accessories to run it.

Yes, it is available in Ubuntu.
In fact, it's my favorite Linux project right now.

I use awn dock, and it looks absolutely great, and also saves a ton of space for the bottom toolbar and has many other cool features like showing album art of the playing music in place of the music player's icon, and the picture of the person you're chatting with in pidgin.
@Ravi, yes. it's available.

Hi,
I'm one of the core developers of Awn. First off, as many other people have stated, Awn is available for all Linux distributions. Several of them package binaries. We have a comprehensive installation guide (via source or binary) at our wiki: http://wiki.awn-project.org/
Additionally, the deb binary that you link to is a bit out of date. We're getting ready to release version 0.2.4 (for details on the changes, see my blog at http://blogger.malept.com/ ), and for some reason, many Awn users like to run the latest development version of the dock. We have a Launchpad PPA containing packages for both the dock and our applet repository: https://launchpad.net/~awn-testing/+archive
Thanks for getting the word out about Awn!
