Bosco's Screen Share 3 introduces universal binary, improved performance
Bosco's cross-platform screen-sharing software Screen Share has just been updated to version 3. This new releases adds Universal Binary for Mac users, significant performance improvements for both Mac and Windows users, and improvements to web screen sharing.Though you might cringe when putting the Bosco Screen Share icon in your dock, we think the payoff is worth it (besides, you can always keep it hidden in your Apps folder). Bosco's Screen Share uses a proprietary p2p protocol, which allows the software to skip the often difficult client/server setup procedure. Easy setup, cross-platform; what's not to love?
Bosco's Screen Share supports screen-sharing in webcast mode (your screen broadcast to a number of people) and a one-to-one mode. The developers have put together some helpful tutorials on their web site if you get stuck.
Bosco's Screen Share is a free download for Mac and Windows, though advertisements will be displayed in the program interface beginning this month.
So, just how good at time waster games are you? Think you've got the stuff? Well, The World's Hardest Game 2.0 doesn't think you do.
Yes, amazingly, it's possible to have a sequel to a game called "The World's Hardest Game". It doesn't seem logically possible, since if the first one was actually the world's hardest, how could another one come along and share the moniker? It made me doubt the name in the first place. Hey, thanks for the plug! I feel like I should announce a contest here to redesign our icon (at least for the Mac). But I'm kinda fond of the icon, myself. If your readers have suggestions that don't involve toilet bowls or cats, drop us a note on our support page:

Hey Bosco:
No hard feelings about the icon. Keep doing what you're doing!

I have never been able to get Bosco's Screen Share —or any remote login program, for that matter— to work so that I could troubleshoot my parent's computer.
I've tried Hamachi, LogMeIn, Bombich's Share My Desktop... nada. They never work for me (and or my set-up)! And naturally, I'm not on Leopard yet, nor are my folks, so the iChat screen sharing function is moot.

If you and and your parents have broadband Internet and Mac OS X 10.3 or later or Windows XP, I can't imagine why we couldn't get get you guys running. You may need to configure a router at one side or the other; it doesn't matter which. We have general instructions and offer a service to do this.
