Windows 7 hits the silver screen (or YouTube anyway)
But now the guy who posted those screenshots is back. And this time he has video evidence on his side, which would be much harder to fake. Not impossible, but harder.
Worried that Microsoft might ask YouTube to remove the video, the folks at the AeroXP forums went and uploaded the video to a few file sharing sites. So if the video above stops playing, check out the AeroXP links.

With Halloween fast approaching, it's a great time to get in some practice defending your territory against zombies. In Graveyard Shift, you take aim at zombies and other creepy-crawlies, blasting them into splatters of cartoony green guts. It's a casual first-person shooter, and it's very easy to get the hang of - use the mouse to aim, click to fire. Graveyard Shift has at least 15 levels, and it might even have some secret stages I haven't unlocked yet.
They key to getting good at Graveyard Shift is learning to use ...

Windows 7 looks a hell of a lot like Vista.

I'm now more sceptical.
When he shows the Windows Media Center at 2:48 it says Windows Vista....

i'm sure it's easy enough to change the text in a couple of places to say 7 instead of ultimate. even if this is windows 7, who cares - it has NO new features over vista.
and as far as i know, microsoft does not cripple beta versions of its operating systems. there won't be a windows 7 ultimate or a windows 7 home premium until the rtm. it is just windows 7 right now.
this is still fake. and if it isn't fake, show me some new features.

Ok this is getting pathetic. Windows 7 is just a code name, they're not going to have "Windows 7 Ultimate on there. I very much doubt they'll even reuse the whole Ultimate thing after the bad press it has gotten and their Ultimate Extras fiasco. They've also stripped the kernel to the bone to start fresh, Google for MinWin. This is just Vista. He used a resource editor to change the bitmap that says Windows Vista to Windows 7. This is just Vista. I'm getting so sick of these stupid fakes, they come out with every new Windows announcement and they'll continue as long as sites continue to give these people attention.

ummm min win isent going to be the kernial you stupd retard....
umm the code name has been plaserd all over the place in
all other versions of windows....why wouldent it be here...
profeshanial was in the longhorn name for a few milestones
so its not suppriseing that ultamint is in the name...
win min isent the code base...its going to be a part of win 7
and like was said in that video..its going to be used for something diffrent then what the next windows will be built on..

Yes it is, and you've been reported for abusive comments.

Oh, the irony of you, Philip, calling the skeptics stupid.

@Philip - I'm sure people are not forgetting that fact, but even if this is Windows 7, the fact is, the video makes it look more like it's just a version of Vista with hacked resources.
Couple points:
1. Resources are dirt simple to hack.
2. The media center team moves faster on features than any other team in the windows division, yet every screen in the MC walk-through looks exactly like every screen on my vista machine.
3. There's a copyright in media center dated 2006.
4. The video is still sitting on you tube... Because it is totally ridiculous.
I'm sure there are builds of windows 7 (probably not in public), but I'd be pretty surprised if this is one of them.

umm hello the early builds looked a hell of alot like 2000 and xp with just modded resorces.....
but there is a simple fact you cant alter the about build version
its hard coded into the actuial system files....
and besides that the build numbers match up to what was already reported to of been M1.....
the only way to fake this is to have acess to the vista sorce code....witch only microsoft dose....
this is mutch more likely to be real the anything elce that has been posted in the last few days....
and i find it intersting that what was reported by the guy on norwin forums said there was a gui boot simmaler to win 95
and what do we have..well just that....
ALL the other fakes have been that stupid txt based boot screen from min win...
so the chances of this being a fake is less then 1%
and i dont see any drastic changes to the ui or mutch of anything elce...
and for the dam reciord win 7 is a code name dam it...
thay havent evian started work on the actuial 7 build code -.-

well if skeptics thought once in a while rather then saying its all fake
when the dam build numbers match on both the desktop
and in the about...and that stuff is hard coded into qute a few files and from what i have seen in all sorts of screens
the about build number version cant be changed...
while the desktop can be...
but the about cant be alterd...

I'm not saying either way if this is fake or not, but as a programming I can easily testify that anyone could make programs that look identicle to the real ones and make the version info display whatever I they want.
I could go and write a program that intercepts the call to display the system info and instead loads my program which shows a monkey drinking urine if I really felt it time well spent (but I don't).

Thank you. Somebody who can back up what they're saying with statements they can prove.
Personally, I'm betting it's a fake. If it were real, a leaker would want to show something new... instead of zooming in constantly on the fact that the screen happens to say "Windows 7 Ultimate" instead of "Windows Vista Ultimate".
The only difference I can see is the loading animation... though perhaps that's built in to Vista and I haven't found it yet.

so, so fake in so many ways... when he shows the "system information" it's just a picture that's been photoshop-ed.
and the same for the ctrl-alt-del menu, it's just a fullscreen picture!
and the media center even says VISTA!
ugh, how could anyone fall for this???

I guess I don't understand the huge debate...clearly if you look at the video and fast forward to 2:47, it clearly says it's "windows Vista" in the OS Version...so what is the debate about?

ok,
Someone knows too much about the registry and knows where the keys are that will effect the UI in a way that will allow Vista to say that. You have to be kidding. In the Media Center version it even says "Windows Vista".
Also... did anyone note that the pictures are not done by screen capture. Like this person is hiding something? And you can never quite see the right hand side of the screen?
This is a false alarm. If you are smart, I'd just drop this topic, and close all forums about this... this person wants the attention they are getting.

We should be able to get a peek at the new UI soon.
