The first annual Open Web Awards voting season has officially drawn to a close. Yesterday we presented the Judge's Choice winners. But we've long had a sinking suspicion that our readers are smarter than us, so we've been kind of curious to see what the results would be. And now we're ready to share them with you.While we wouldn't be surprised to discover there may have been some ballot box stuffing in one or two categories, but this is a popularity contest, not a scientific poll. Overall we're pretty impressed with the results.
The winners will be honored at an awards event on January 10th, 2008 at the Palace Hotel in San Francisco.

Facebook is good for social search??? Since when? I have yet to find another website that makes social searching (i.e. dating, friends, one night stands, etc..) harder to do. I do have a Facebook account and I do log onto every now and then. The look and feel of that site makes me wonder the maturity level of the people who design the site; because it truly does look like a collaboration of middle school and high school programmers.
MySpace still is the best for social searching. The main reason why: you can see every single person's profile as long as it isn't set to private.
Facebook is definitely a step up from every other social networking site (sans MySpace); but it isn't quite as good as MySpace.
