No matter what sort of an internet user you are, full time, part time, addicted/allergic to the internet, you must've searched for online content once in a while. Internet searching is a habit every bit as integral to our online presence as our breathing. Now tell me, how many time have you come across a situation in which you need to look back into the mirror of time and say, find what were you searching for 3 days ago? Plenty right? Without proper knowledge of browser caches, cookies and lots of other nerdy stuff, that might well be a hefty task. That is where "My Last Search" comes in handy.
My Last Search reveals past searches performed on major browsers like IE and Firefox (sorry Opera lovers) over front running search engines like Google, MSN and Yahoo. They are also adding support for additional search engines just incase someone has a special taste in crawlers.MLS is a versatile app teeming with features for both pros (AKA "Command Line"-lovers) and newbies. The application is unbelievable small (47 K) and fully portable (no need hassling for an installation). Just download the .zip file, extract in a folder and get started. The property dialogue (visible as the second window in the screenshot ) which pops up when you double click on a history item has a couple of useful options that lets you detect the search terms, the browser used, time of search, URL etc. Just one thing to keep in mind though, if you are a person (like myself) who deletes his/her browser history on an hourly/daily basis, you might just find a few sharp corners while using this app.
My Last Search is released by Nirsoft and is a freeware compatible with Windows only. It is available in a few different languages.

I just simply use the search feature in my Windows Live Toolbar, I start typing, and suggest searches pop-up, as well as my past searches. Simple and easy.
Plus you can make custom buttons on it : http://toolbar.live.com/default.aspx

That is a good idea, Michael. But not "Everyone" uses or "prefers" using the LIVE toolbar for a variety of reasons. I personally have no grudge against it and have tried it out a few times.
However, MLS has a few extra features up its sleeves other than searching for past-searches only. It also dissects the results so that useful infos like browser used, time of visit, number of visits etc shows up. For a 47K hassle free app, that is pretty impressive.

I'm sorry. I was just merely suggesting it to those who were interested. I thought people might be interested, because I find it a pretty darn good toolbar.
MLS does seem impressive. I might try it myself even. Though, those advanced features are a bit above my head.
