Yahoo! Messenger 9 beta adds in-line video support
Yahoo! has launched a public beta of Yahoo! Messenger 9. The update includes a bunch of boring but important updates like localized versions for more countries including Indonesia, Thailand, and the Philippines. But the big news is that you can embed videos, images, and maps in a chat window. If you copy and paste a YouTube URL into a message, a video window will pop up. You can also add a Flickr slideshow or drag and drop images from your desktop.
The new IM client also has a redesigned contact list. When you hover over a friend, options pop up for sending an IM message, SMS text message, or starting a voice call. You can also customize the look with new skins, and you can add emoticons to your status message.
Yahoo! Messenger 9 beta is available for Windows XP and Vista. There are other versions available for Mac, Linux/Unix, mobile, or web chat.

With Halloween fast approaching, it's a great time to get in some practice defending your territory against zombies. In Graveyard Shift, you take aim at zombies and other creepy-crawlies, blasting them into splatters of cartoony green guts. It's a casual first-person shooter, and it's very easy to get the hang of - use the mouse to aim, click to fire. Graveyard Shift has at least 15 levels, and it might even have some secret stages I haven't unlocked yet.
They key to getting good at Graveyard Shift is learning to use ...

Amazing.
Live Messenger has had this since the last update 8.1.
It's great to see Y! catching up.
Live Messenger still remains the best all-around IM client for the many features, and ways of tweaking it. Take a look.

Yahoo has many problems with their released 8.1 version. too many bugs to mention on that one.
Maybe this new one will be a step up. I won't install it right now due to the fact, i already have major problems on 8.1 at the moment. some of my friends had to install the old 7.0 version.
Now they need to release the Vista version and fix the bots who not only bother you in chat rooms but bother you even when you only use the plain messenger.
Yahoo has a lot of problems currently. maybe the new version will fix a lot of them or maybe open up a whole new bunch of bugs.
The spam has really been horrible since they merged with MSN messenger.
Yahoo has always been my messenger of choice. it dose offer a great cam chat vs other cam chats i used. but recently a lot of disconnects even while your using a high speed connection. could be a server issue. but yahoo is a big company. if their servers can't handle the traffic? then maybe they are doing something wrong.

@Johnny:
I doubt any spam problems have anything to do with MSN. Maybe a long time ago, yes. But I don't see any spam coming from MSN accounts.
Surprisingly, spam comes in my bulk folder every day in Y! Mail. I ignore it of course, but it's still there.
I also find Live Messenger does a better job with webcams, because a lot of people I know, have trouble with Y! and webcams. Maybe your webcam is ok, but I know most people prefer webcam chat via WLM than Y!
Plus the games on Y! Messenger suck. Seriously. It would take minutes for the Y! servers to connect me and my buddy, and there was always this prompt to put in Macromedia Flash, or something, and it still wouldn't work.
With WLM, games come much faster, and there's plenty to choose from. You also can help donate money to 9 large organizations everytime you IM on WLM.

I use a 128kb/sec DSL modem , and windows XP (sp2) and IE7.
I encounter this error message each time I want to sign in: "System is busy , try a bit later" .
I Installed Y!messenger 9 beta last week , I faced this problem . That time I unistalled Y!m9 and switched back to 8.1 and it worked properly.
Today I installed Y!M 9 again and ... the same error message appears each time I want to sign in.
But when I use my Dial-up (56k) modem connection , I can sign in easily to the new Y!M 9 (beta) .
I contacted my Internet support group but they didn't know the solution either.
I would be really appreciated if you could help me find the reason for this problem and help me solve that. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE answer! xoxox

If you get the message "System is busy please try a bit later" simply go to 'messenger' menu then click connection prefrences and select firewall with no proxies press ok then
reconnect.
good time
