Meebo dropped the "pre-alpha" tag on iPhone specific version of their site allowing any and everyone the ability to chat on AIM, MSN, Google Talk, ICQ and Yahoo from the Safari browser on their phone.
Skype for iPhone in beta
Shape Services launched a beta version of IM+ for Skype for iPhone allowing iPhone users to chat with their Skype contacts using Safari on their iPhone.
iPhone homescreen skinning possible
ModMyiPhone released a home screen skinner, allowing iPhone users to customize the icons and background on their homescreen.
The first native iPhone game released
Lights Off became the first game native iPhone game. Installing the third-party game isn't exactly a piece of cake requires jailbreaking your iPhone.
Facebook launches iPhone specific site
Facebook got in on the iPhone game by launching an iPhone specific version of their site.
iPhone video conferencing on the way
At the C-4 Developer conference strides were made in the way of video conferencing on the iPhone. Mac Daddy World created an application that would allow video conferencing on the iPhone with the help of a mirror. They posted the source code for the application so savvy developers can see how they did it. They're still working on getting sound in the application.

Lights off was not the first native iPhone game.
Before it was tictactoe and that crappy zune killing game.
