Keep Recordin' lets your Windows Mobile keep recording
We're suckers for programs that do exactly what their title suggests. Keep Recordin' is a free Windows Mobile application that makes it easier to record long audio files on your phone or PDA.The built in Windows Mobile recording application stores files in your main memory. Given that most Windows Mobile device measure their built in storage in megabytes rather than gigabytes, that doesn't leave a lot of space for extended recording. If you want to record a business meeting, class lecture or bootleg-friendly concert, you'll have to set your device to record at an extraordinarily low sample rate.
Keep Recordin' overcomes this limitation by letting you choose an alternate storage location, like a flash memory card. The product description also says it "suppresses ambient noises and stores audio files in chronological order." But that pretty much means it labels each file with the date and time of the recording so that you can easily find it using the Windows Mobile File Explorer. As for the ambient noise suppression, that may mean it turns on Windows Mobile's automatic gain control for your device's microphone. It's not clear that anything else is going on under the hood of this 74KB program.
So, just how good at time waster games are you? Think you've got the stuff? Well, The World's Hardest Game 2.0 doesn't think you do.
Yes, amazingly, it's possible to have a sequel to a game called "The World's Hardest Game". It doesn't seem logically possible, since if the first one was actually the world's hardest, how could another one come along and share the moniker? It made me doubt the name in the first place. That is, until I tried the game.
The mechanics of the game are very simple. You are a small red square, ...

Huh, when did this start happening? My WM2003 (not SE) Axim lets you specify where recordings go, and I always direct them to my SD card. I recorded a whole audio book this way (quality is not great, but then I'm not a great reader -- it's for my wife), and all I had to do was periodically dump the SD card off onto my laptop. Does WM2005 not give you this option?

Thanks for the post! I have Windows Mobile 2003 SE and specified my 2gb SD card but it keeps stopping after 30 minutes of audio. I'll give this a shot and let you know how it works out. Looks like this is just what I need.

Works great! Only con that I found is that it saves the sound files in stereon on my Dell Axim x50, other than that works great! I've recorded over 60 minutes of my class lectures where as before with Notes recorder I would have to restart the recording every 30 minutes and I would also have to wait 5 min while it finished writting the file to my SD card.
Thanks!
