SpaceTime - 3D web search

You can take your web surfing to a whole new visual extreme with SpaceTime, a new PC software application that enables 3D searching, shopping and browsing. The images are loaded in visual stacks so you can see 10 results, each in their own window, all in a nifty 3D card shuffle.

If you want to take a closer look at a result, you double click the window in the stack and the browser reverts to a regular 2D view. To resume your 3D search, you click "Go Back". It takes some getting to used to searching this way, but the experience is richer visually. It can also be a drain on your system resources, and can cause it to go much slower than the "search at the speed of thought" the company claims. Good news though, SpaceTime makes short shrift of those pesky tiny thumbnails so squinting isn't mandatory anymore.

SpaceTime has also includes 3D ebay search and 3D image search, a hint of what might be to come down the road.

Unfortunately, there is no Mac version. The software is better suited to newer PC's running Windows 2000, XP, or Vista, with at least 512 MB of RAM, 128 MB of video RAM, and a modern CPU. You'll also want some stout bandwidth.

The download is free and there is a community support forum as well as a user's guide to help get you acquainted with the program. Let us know your thoughts on this latest entry to 3D search market.
