Sk*rt: it's like digg for the ladies

Are you a female who is sick of reading Digg and finding that all the content was aimed at males? Wouldn't you rather be reading topics about aimed directly at women? No? What's that? You check Digg because tech savvy women are pretty much interested in the same thing as the men? Oh. Well. Um. Let's pretend that you're looking for something different. Voila! It exists now! Sk*rt is a Digg-like site aimed at topics that are, according to the site, "For women. And the men who want to get in their heads." The slogan alone proves that the site is made by women. Very few guys are trying to get into woman's head. Anyway, if Digg is indeed a boys club as Styledash claims, then think of it as the NBA. And it seems that Sk*rt is doing a fantastic impression of the WNBA. Solid idea, solid execution, but comparatively, no one's really paying attention.

But that's not to say that this isn't a good idea, and won't fill a niche. But that NBA analogy is just way too convenient to pass up. And it's somewhat valid, considering the front page stories on Sk*rt have an average of about 13-14 votes, while the ones on Digg have about 50 times that. It should be stated that Sk*rt, in it's defense, has only been around for a few months. Assuming the site can gain a following, it may turn into an interesting place for women to hang out online. I can't see it helping guys get anywhere with girls though, unless they follow the link that shows you how to make an amazing frozen coconut key lime tart. It's proven that chicks digg (or Love, as it's called on Sk*rt) key lime tart.
