Google and Salesforce.com rumored to become partners
Never underestimate how far an incredibly mediocre analogy can be taken. In what will undoubtedly go down in history as the cyber cold war equivalent of the USSR forming an alliance with Cuba, it's being reported that Google is forming a partnership with Salesforce.com in order to better compete against Microsoft. That's right, Google is the USSR. Deal with it. It has to be this way, because Google is way more fun to say in an eastern European accent.
The partnership, which should be announced in the next few weeks according to the Wall Street Journal, has interesting potential. One likely outcome, WSJ reports, could be a web-based product that uses many of Google's online services, like email and instant messaging, combined with Salesforce.com's customer relationship management tools. There are also reports -- which may or may not be completely made up for the sake of keeping things interesting -- that say Google is already transporting medium range missiles equipped with nuclear warheads onto Salesforce.com's soil. Historians are already dubbing this event "The Salesforce.com Missile Crisis" and "completely made up".
