Watching cheese is the cool thing to do online
Numbers don't lie, but sometimes it would be better if they did. Because sometimes statistics tell things that are so horrible that we'd be better off not knowing. Sometimes we, as a society, are not ready to deal with what those statistics mean. We can't handle them. We simply aren't equipped to handle the absolute horror that these numbers mean. Take for example, this website. More than 1 Million people came to this site, and spent far too much time (note: any amount of time that is more than zero seconds is far too much time) watching, get this, a block of English cheddar cheese ripen. That's right. Cheese. Ripen. That's what this website is about. Watching cheese ripen. No matter how many times it is said, it just doesn't sink in. And yes, before you get all up in arms. Writing about it is probably making it worse. Giving it attention may only direct more people to the site, but sometimes these travesties have to be dealt with. It's impossible to wrap one's mind around the fact that people are watching cheese ripen on the internet. On the internet. <sarcasm> Watching cheese ripen live, now there's an event, something you can really get behind.</sarcasm> But over the internet? There are at least 700 million things in the world more exciting to do than watch cheese online. Watching paint dry is more interesting, mainly because it doesn't take an entire year to finish, as this cheese does. 119 different countries have been represented by losers watching cheese ripen. Now all of you run along and check it out, you know you want to.
