I have an absolute weakness for physics games, and while Civiballs isn't the strongest physics-based game, what it lacks in the physics department it makes up for a few times over in style and fun.
In Civiballs, you are presented with a few colored balls, and your goal is to get those balls into the same-colored urn on the level. The "civi" part of Civiballs is that there are 3 sets of levels to play, each representing a different civilization. While the civilization doesn't affect gameplay, the artwork for each level is beautifully themed to it's appropriate era.
To play the game, you are given only one tool - a sword with which to cut the chains that are holding the balls. The puzzle part of the game is in figuring out what order, and with what timing to cut each chain. Do it right, and all the right balls end up in the right urns, with no stray balls entering an urn (a no-no). Do it wrong, and you get to start over again.
Civiballs is not terribly deep on gameplay; the entire game can be completed in about 15 minutes. But if you enjoy this type of game, it will be a very enjoyable 15 minutes.

Hey David, thanks for the great write up, really appreciate it. Just wanted to let you know the image upload and lightbox implimentation is built into an image upload module for pligg. Also another interesting feature is users can put their own adsense code in their profile which means their adsense block will show up next to their submissions, making sure in the future the top users will actually get compensated, and that's an out of the box feature on pligg.
Cheers!

haven't seen or used pligg,.. but I've just had a look at the site and correct me if I'm wrong, clicking the title link, on the individual pligg display page doesn't shoot you off to the site where the t-shirt is for sale...
clicking on the image brings a lightbox enlarged image up though there's no way to go and find a price etc from the originating site.
either it's a not very functional system, or not very usable. love the idea, hope all the bugs get ironed out.

I just found the link, surely, it should be the big title on the page, not the tiny grey subtext... the biggest link on the page is to the page itself,.. that just seems silly.

Been using Pligg for quite a while now. They seem to be using the latest build, but not the latest, which has a "bury" option. Nonetheless, another cool implementation of pligg.

Ok, I've fixed the title link issue, now if you're looking at the actual story page the main link goes to the external site.
Thanks,
Karl
