Web designers RIP, Zude is here
Seems like someone has some kind of beef with web designers, or a passion to see more bad design online, but at least it seems like a cool service. Zude is a new online service that lets people quickly and easily design their own websites. Through the Web 2.0 technology that Zude employs, people will be able to drag and drop content creating enhancements for the MySpace sites of the internet. This includes widgets, pictures, videos and images with the ability to resize, rotate and move the elements around the page.
Zude launches May 1st, and the scheduled fee for the service will be $25 a year for a blank customizable space. The premise for the service is great. It allows people that are not able to code and put together a website the ability to express themselves online, but are we headed to a geocities, MySpace, everything all over the place online world? Just as long as this service doesn't extend to the business sector, web designers should still be employable (we hope).

With Halloween fast approaching, it's a great time to get in some practice defending your territory against zombies. In Graveyard Shift, you take aim at zombies and other creepy-crawlies, blasting them into splatters of cartoony green guts. It's a casual first-person shooter, and it's very easy to get the hang of - use the mouse to aim, click to fire. Graveyard Shift has at least 15 levels, and it might even have some secret stages I haven't unlocked yet.
They key to getting good at Graveyard Shift is learning to use ...

We have this twisted belief that Zude will be good for everyone!
From the professional web developer's perspective, Zude is the ultimate canvas. It can house widgets and gadgets from any source, provides for the integration of rich third-party content, and fully supports templates.
Additionally, Zude incoporates functionality specifically designed for advanced users, including event encapsulation, advanced web applications, and CSS overriding.
And, Zude includes the ability to monitize your efforts with integration with the ZOM (Zude Object Manager), wherin you can create objects, templates, or even complex web applications -- and then track them and turn them on and off as desired.
Ultimately, if Zude is the success we all hope it to be, the opportunity of an entire Zude ecosystem is enourmous!
Either that or we just used up our 15 minutes!

I could rest in peace if only I knew the Zude web developers were designing and developing in a standards compliant browser, and subsequently testing across multiple browsers (for now, let's not touch on the Zude logo/colour scheme and the fact that the index page is built using tables.)
Take a look at Zude in Firefox - you'll see the top Zude logo (which for some reason hasn't been incorporated using an image replacement technique) is cut short. It looks fine in IE.
How will Zude platform stand a chance if the developers can't get an intro page right?

Your points are well taken and we hope that the actual relase of Zude will increase your comfort as a multi-browser platform solution.
We are committed to this effort and maintain dedicated resource and ongoing investment in this area. It will always be an ongoing process that we will never stray from. I hope that fact, and the results provided in Zude itself, will ultimately speak for itself.
