Windows XP: The end is near
In the market for a new Windows-based PC, but don't feel like switching to Windows Vista just yet? You might want to take a look at the ticking clock.APC Magazine reports that computer manufacturers will no longer have access to OEM editions of Windows XP come 2008. Nevermind that many computer users have issues with software incompatibilities and don't want to upgrade to Windows Vista.
Of course, if you walk into most stores that sell computers today, you're not going to see anything on the shelf running Windows XP. But you can still order plenty of PCs online that come with the operating system.

So, just how good at time waster games are you? Think you've got the stuff? Well, The World's Hardest Game 2.0 doesn't think you do.
Yes, amazingly, it's possible to have a sequel to a game called "The World's Hardest Game". It doesn't seem logically possible, since if the first one was actually the world's hardest, how could another one come along and share the moniker? It made me doubt the name in the first place. That is, until I tried the game.
The mechanics of the game are very simple. You are a small red square, ...

There is nothing strange about that... Why would the company want to have OEM builders keep making PCs with an OS that is several years old when Vista will have been out for over a year?
It's not like they are dropping support for the OS they just want all new PCs NEXT YEAR to ship with Vista... whats the big deal?
How often does Apple sell new machines with 5 year old OSes on them?

Why? With all the different flavors of OS's out there. do people even THINK about windows? Folks, it's ALL ABOUT THE MONEY.
PC Linux OS, it's rock solid I use it for EVERYTHING, Kubuntu is a nice distro, get a Mac for God's sake. Stand up for yourself. Stop crying "M$ did it to me AGAIN" Stop Letting M$ walk all over you, show some backbone.

What does this have to do with Apple?

Slow down there John. People may run Windows, Oh I don't know, because that's what their software runs on.

YAYYYYY linux fanboys!
Some people like...GAMES... and Applications (that don't take 20 mintues to get to work under WINE.)
Does Linux have it's uses? SURE! is Desktop OS on 98% of the market one of those uses? Nope. Not yet. Ubuntu is the closest we've got to anything worthwhile in that department, and it's still probably 4-5 versions from being actually user friendly.
As for this... um... by the time they stop selling XP... I'm HOPING that Nvidia/ATI/Creative bother to get off their butts and write decent drivers...as that's what MOST of vista's problems come down to. Third party companies that are screwing over their users by not upgrading older products trying to force people to buy new sound cards, buy new video cards, buy new capture cards...

Well, I shouldn't care. Nor the majority of the OpenSource or freeware users, do they?
What is finishing, is the commercial support of updates in this system.
I am sorry, but I don't buy new software as frequently as you all do. Yes, I install many OpenSource, and will keep on doing so...
I guess that every company is going to have Vista installed. So they should also not care for this news.

What does this have to do with Apple? The fact that Macs are now just as capable of running Windows as any other PC, and plenty of Mac users _are_ running Windows.
