Calculate your chances of hitting the front page of Digg
Hitting the front page of Digg can direct thousands of visitors to your website or blog. So it should come as no surprise that Digg users spend seconds, minutes even crafting clever titles and descriptions for the stories they submit.There must be some formula for determining which posts are most likely to hit the front page, right? Well, probably not, but that hasn't stopped Mitchell Harper from writing an application that estimates your post's probability of making Digg's front page, thus driving thousands of viewers to your web page or some other poor schmuck's website, which will either lead to increased advertising revenue or server crashes.
So far as we can tell, the Digg-a-Meter scans your post title and description for a few buzzwords and phrases like "Top 10," and "Web 2.0" At the time I write this post, DownloadSquad has one post on Digg's front page. The Digg-a-Meter predicted the article would have a 1% chance of getting there, so take any results with a grain of salt. Or maybe a tablespoon of salt.
