Fullerscreen: Firefox add-on of the day
But you can do better. Nvu lead engineer Daniel Glazman has developed a Firefox add-on called FullerScreen. Once you install it, hitting F11 will make everything but the web page you're currently looking at disappear.
But wait, you say, I need my tabs and menu bars. Well, you could always just hit F11 to toggle back and forth between fullscreen and windowed mode. But if you move your cursor over the top of the screen, you'll see your toolbars and tabs. Ditto for the bottom of the screen.

With Halloween fast approaching, it's a great time to get in some practice defending your territory against zombies. In Graveyard Shift, you take aim at zombies and other creepy-crawlies, blasting them into splatters of cartoony green guts. It's a casual first-person shooter, and it's very easy to get the hang of - use the mouse to aim, click to fire. Graveyard Shift has at least 15 levels, and it might even have some secret stages I haven't unlocked yet.
They key to getting good at Graveyard Shift is learning to use ...

This is a great extension! One area that I preferred IE over FF in was the full-screen view, because in IE all the toolbars hide in full-screen mode. But now, this extension provides the same functionality. Thanks for mentioning it!

Uhh, yeah. Doesn't IE7 already do that? A lot of people down on IE7, but I think it works just fine.

Troll much jaxager? Not everyone wants to use IE 7, and perhaps you aren't aware but IE 7 only runs on Windows and not everyone runs Windows either. Try to be more constructive in the future.

To jaxager: if IE7 is so great....go use it! I wish you luck. As mentioned elsewhere in this blog, not everyone uses Windows and they are probably happier for it!

Conversely, not everyone wants to use Firefox (like me, because it's had to make some compromises in the looks department to be cross-platform.) Besides, there are other browsers, like Opera, which happen to have it built in.
Though that is the beauty of Firefox, ship a very lightweight browser "core" and let everyone pack it with the featureset they want through extensions.

Another FF extension that does the same - "AutoHide".

IE7? IE6 had it, I think IE5 had it, hell, IE4 may of had it too.
So don't jump all over jaxager for pointing out that IE has had one (and only) better feature then FF for years.
Talk about trolls...

It's called kiosk mode. It's been in IE for a few generations.

I didn't mean to offend. I have had such rotten luck with Internet Explorer that I am a bit bitter about it. I really don't care for version 7 either. Just too many bugs and it made my new computer crash several times. That computer is running XP Pro, MCE. I am experimenting with Linux now on a different machine and, as you know, Firefox is the default browser. I have used FF for a long time and overall find it to be far better and more stable. I also like the fact that when bugs are reported, they get on the fix ASAP where MS takes their sweet time about it. That's just my opinion and you know what they say about opinions! LOL
