Yahoo! knows what's best for you (no really)
First up, the new interface makes much more use of AJAX than the previous version. But essentially it works like the old My Yahoo! You can drag and drop modules including RSS feeds, weather forecasts, and TV listings across the screen to arrange the page the way you like it. You can add or remove those modules, and you can create multiple pages.
But perhaps the biggest change isn't what you can do. It's what you don't have to do. The first time you open My Yahoo! you'll find a personalized page designed just for you, based on how you've used Yahoo! in the past. If you frequently use Yahoo! to look up movies or TV listings, you'll have access to those items. This is a pretty handy feature if you don't feel like spending hours customizing your start page.
You can also share your start page with other users by sending a message through Yahoo! Mail or Messenger. If you don't see a link atop your My Yahoo! page asking if you want to switch, you can sign up for the new version.

Ian: If you go to your account settings and change your location to "Yahoo! US" you can then activate the new version on your account. After which you can switch your location back to Canada and the new version will still work (providing you go to http://cm.my.yahoo.com -- without the 'cm' it will just be the old personalized homepage).

I love this upgrade to My Yahoo! I had all but stopped using my My Yahoo! page and had gone to using Live Bookmarks and directly visiting the content I would've had on my MyY! page.
I spent this morning reconfiguring my MyY! page and I'm already hooked on it.

Very helpful, great that it adds support for other Y! betas (bookmarks, tv). A little on the slow side, this should be improved. Also, the auto-list of Y! services is kinda nice, but I'd really appreciate a custom list as well! Also, looked horrible in my old "sports" theme, the new color choices are great, though!
I used to use My Y! but had to switch when the new yahoo.com rolled out, but now I think I'll be able to jump back to my Y! Yahoo! mail beta is becoming a good home as well, as it shows weather, feeds, calendar, contacts, not to mention mail!
I'm glad (and surprised) that Y! provided this service to AT&T as well as plain Y! users!

Speaking of Yahoo Mail,
It is 2:11PM CDT in Texas and mail.yahoo.com will not load any mail.yahoo.com web pages after signing in to Yahoo. (Groups.yahoo.com and other parts of Yahoo seem ok.) All I get post sign in is "server not found errors" and I couldn't find anything online about a Yahoo mail outage. Is this connected to the earlier change to Daylight Time 12 hours ago? (Like they didn't know about the time change!)
I'm using a wired-into-the-network PC with XP and a broadband connection and have never had this problem before.

Miss Dagurreotype - I'm not having any problems accessing my Yahoo! account. You might want to try contacting Yahoo support.
