And the name is...Windows Live Hotmail
Microsoft has announced that they will be keeping the Hotmail name when they officially launch their Live email service worldwide, with some users seeing reference to the Windows Live Hotmail name in their beta versions. Microsoft also announced their two major goals when they chose to take on the building of the new web mail service: Build a faster and safer mail service and create a powerful service to meet the needs of a broader customer set. A lot of buzz with the new name as well, apparently some users think it's a bad idea that Hotmail was kept in the name, hinting at the fact that it's a dated name that reeks of old technology. Microsoft says that they are bringing the best of both worlds together. What are your thoughts? Should they have left the Hotmail name out of the mix and stuck with the fresh Live that has been so heavily marked over the past year?
With Halloween fast approaching, it's a great time to get in some practice defending your territory against zombies. In Graveyard Shift, you take aim at zombies and other creepy-crawlies, blasting them into splatters of cartoony green guts. It's a casual first-person shooter, and it's very easy to get the hang of - use the mouse to aim, click to fire. Graveyard Shift has at least 15 levels, and it might even have some secret stages I haven't unlocked yet.
They key to getting good at Graveyard Shift is learning to use ...

Dang... I fell in love with WLMail.... but now hotmail is comming back. Sad... real sad! As www.Mess.be stated: we got through the MSN Messenger rebranding, we're not stupid, we can get through WLMail too! I really agree with that. Hotmail was indeed my first mail service provider, in 1998, but it does remind me of the horrible.. old technology!'

It sucks compared to gmail too.
Its just so damn slow... I want to like it, my phone wants to like it but its a pain with firefox.
As for "Hotmail" maybe I am just underinformed but what if you already have had a hotmail.com address say since '98 that everyone you know and every online website knows as your account wouldn't you need to keep the name so you wouldn't force people to change their addresses?

Not that it really matters to me, but yea, "Hotmail" should have been dumped...hehe. Microsoft Live Mail or something should just be used. But yea, Hotmail was one of the first mail servers I used (Juno was first, followed by Rocketmail, and then finally Hotmail I think) back when I first started on the net.
Gmail for the win :P I just don't like the way Yahoo Beta looks so much like Outlook...

The use of 'Live' is jive. It's too generic, so it only makes sense prepended with 'Windows', and not much sense even then.
If Hotmail is 'old technology' then what is Yahoo? So long as that antiquated brans exists, Hotmail will seem positively moderne!
