Flash Element TD - Today's Time Waster

I've seen games like Flash Element TD before and haven't been overwhelmed, but after playing this one for about 45 minutes, and then realizing I had been playing it for 45 minutes, I realized it's a keeper. It's of the "tower defense" genre, wherein you have to protect against wave after wave of baddies by building towers. Each tower has strengths and weaknesses against different enemies, which get progressively tougher. For each enemy you kill you get gold, which you can use to buy more towers, and for every seventh wave you get wood, which you can spend to unlock new types of towers. At the beginning of the game you have 20 lives, and you lose one life for every enemy you let pass. While nothing about Flash Element TD stands out too far at first blush, but after playing a few levels I was completely addicted. Check it out.
I don't know if this is a labor of love or merely the brainchild of four very gifted games designers, but Level Up is a really weird mash-up of gaming elements that you have probably never seen in a Flash game before.
Let's start with the premise itself: Groundhog Day meets Memento. The game experience revolves around 'days': you explore the world and the clock slowly ticks towards the evening. This game is absolutely addicting! Too bad it's only 30 levels. The High Scores seem to be too high for me. Could anyone tell me how you can get 20,000 points in just 30 levels?

Ohh this game is great. The trick is to optimize everything. It's particularly important in the earlier levels, because then the faster you can accrue money in the beginning, the more the interest will come into play.
So your goal is to use the minimal number of resources necessary to make it through a level. I needed about 5000 dollars before I could get through the 5th bonus level, where each enemy had 30,000 health points.
SO how to accrue money quickly:
1) Proper placement of your canons for maximum effectiveness. Pick the lanes between two roads of the maze. Also pick corners where 2 or 3 sides are roads where the creeps will be walking around. Make sure to place plenty of weapons in the middle.
2) Place plenty of weapons in the last stretch of the maze, because the creeps speed up there.
3) I used canons specifically throughout the first 21 levels.
4) Get interest when you earn wood. i did that with the first two woods I earned. So I was accruing interest at 20% beginning at level 14. And that means you can increase your earnings 18 fold over the next 16 levels.
5) Forget the earth element research. The only thing that's good for is in combination with everything else to get the combo gun. But those guns are big, expensive and slow. Not worth it. Focus on getting fire canons.
4) In the later levels water become very important. I usually line my corridors up with just tons and tons of fire canons. By the time I'm at level 30, I've got every inch of the screen covered with fire canons and waters. In this game, quantity is sometimes better then quality (aka firewpower per gun). Because once a creep moves out of range of one of your guns, no matter how powerful it is, it's useless. Also, since one gun can only target 1 or two creeps at 1 time. Invariably some will escape. So it's important to have enough redundancy to cover it all.
5) I beat the 5th bonus level with about 40 fire canons, each maxed out at 400 powerfire. And then tons of water towers. If you are really careful, you can over lap those.

John seems to have it right for the most part. Here's what I did.
Wood Upgrade Order:
1. Fire
2. Interest
3. Interest
4. Water
Completely ignore air/arrow towers. They are next to useless. Instead, place two cannons on the middle island that comes out from the left part of the screen. Preferrably somewhere along the strip so that any creeps that slip by will get hit on the return. Fully upgraded, these cannons allow you to accumulate interest up until the 8th level air. By now you'll have enough for a fire tower plus an upgrade, which will be sufficient to get you through this level 12. Try not to upgrade, only when necessary. Sit on your gold and accumulate interest as much as possible, only adding additional fire towers/upgrades when necessary. As John said, its better to emphasize quantity over quality. Eventually you'll no longer require your cannon towers so you can sell them back and accumulate interest on them or build fire towers in their place. You'll need about 8-10 fire towers, at least half of them with level 1 upgrades to get through to the bonus levels. After that you can pretty much just spam towers all over the place.

you need to start with two arrow towers each upgraded onece then place the first in the middle of the rectangle at the begening of the road and the second on in the middle of the whole map. as you progress use mostly just arrow towers. arrow towers may be light when it comes to damage but they are the only basic tower that can attack both land and air. you will want to place the arrow towers so that they cover the most amount of road. when you build an arrow tower wait till you have at least 20g tat way you can build it and upgrade it imeadiatly. when you first get wood spend it only on researching elemental towers. elemental towers are extremely powerful do not underestamate them they are amazeingly good in the early levels. it is advised to buy air and cannon towers later in the game since air creachers don't come around very often and when they do your cannon towers are absolutely useless. rocket towers are the best thing in the game especially when upgraded. p.s try not to overlap towers it may allow you to do alot of damage but you sometimes cover over other towers completely and you can't upgrade them.
