It is free, and is available online, for download, or as a printed copy (not free). Mr. Neighborly's Humble Little Ruby Book is a great resource for programmers and newbies alike. You will find out about Jeff, the dancing ficus, which isn't quite the same as cartoon foxes, chunky bacon, and elves with pet hams (good form you know...) but it is quite good anyhow.
