One of the PC games from the mid-'90s that I have the fondest memories of is You Don't Know Jack, a great raucously fun game that really set the bar for hot-seat trivia action. Today I'm thrilled to report that You Don't Know Jack rides again, in the form of the
Daily DisOrDat. It's a web-based Flash game with a new trivia challenge every day. The format will be familiar to anyone who played the original series, but in case you haven't, it goes like this: You're presented with a series of items and for each one you have to press 1 or 2 depending on which category it belongs in. For example, today's challenge is to differentiate between foreign names for Santa and foreign beers. It's a fast-paced game in which you have to make seven selections in 30 seconds, which I guess doesn't make it much of a time-waster, but it's still great fun.
So, just how good at time waster games are you? Think you've got the stuff? Well, The World's Hardest Game 2.0 doesn't think you do.
Yes, amazingly, it's possible to have a sequel to a game called "The World's Hardest Game". It doesn't seem logically possible, since if the first one was actually the world's hardest, how could another one come along and share the moniker? It made me doubt the name in the first place. I LOVED YDKJ. I wish they were still making them, they were great holiday gifts back in the day. I'll definitely be tracking this back later tonight. Keep up the great work!
