Windows Vista RC2 now available for public consumption
Windows Vista RC2 has been released and is available for download. Turns out we were wrong when we reported that RC2 would be available only to Microsoft beta testers. However, Microsoft is saying it will be available "for a limited time only" and "may not have the same level of support" as RC1 (whatever that means). The RC2 download is an ISO file that must be burned to a DVD, so if your computer doesn't have that capability, don't bother. Otherwise, go ahead and grab RC2 while it's hot, and have a look at some of those 1,400+ remaining bugs!(Thanks, Bryan!)

I've downloaded RC2 twice now, and both times I get an error telling me that the MD5 key is invalid, it's really annoying, that's 5GB i've downloaded today all for nothing. IT'S SO F***ING ANNOYING!!!

you mentioned not to bother if the computer doesnt not have a dvd burner, you can always use daemon tools to launch the image and install without having to burn the iso to a dvd. And to Joeb maybe you downloaded the wrong bit(32bit & 64bit) so double check

Need to get RC2 from someone. MS pulled it and my d/l failed with 1% remaining due to disk space problems. Anyone know where it might be cached for D/L?
Thanks!

---- DISREGARD - have been told that 5744 was pulled due to some problems with the build and that it will be reposted after a new build is done...

That's funny. I was at 90% when my download stopped.

I believe that RC2 was leaked by mistake and now MS has taken it off and has limited it to select tester groups.

MS wanted 200,000 testers. They reached that number and pulled RC2. I was in the middle of downloading when they pulled it. Does anyone have a good copy that I may download?
Thanks.

I was one of the few that actually got it downloaded before they took it off. I have it, but for some reason it won't even boot for me to install. :-(

I am sure you can find it elsewhere. But its funny that they pulled it off. Some say because it has more bugs but I have tried it and so far its stable and smooth.

RC2 was pulled even from the beta testers site. I was busy and when i returned it was gone from the vista site and my beta site and as far as I can see they are shutting down any links to the file from anywhere. So like me I guess if you didnt get it you probally wont. I wouldnt mind testing it also.
