iTunes has giant success with Disney films

The recent announcement last week of Disney teaming with Apple to provide movies online through iTunes has turned into a giant success. In the first week alone, iTunes has generated $1 million in the sales of 75 Disney films and 125,000 titles being sold. Disney has worked out some figures and estimates that this partnership will lead to a $50 million deal by the end of 2006. Best of all, there is absolutely no marketing money being spent by Disney at all, its all Apple. Disney is planning on increasing the number of films they will offer, and hopes that through this venture, movie piracy will decrease.
