Corral your email with ePrompter

If you're like a lot of people these days, you have at least two email addresses. And you probably have more than that. (Personally, I've got five.) It can be a pain to keep track of all of them.Enter ePrompter, a free Windows app that will monitor all your web-based and POP3 email accounts (up to 16 accounts) and notify you of new messages at regular intervals. ePrompter also lets you compose, forward, and reply to emails without having to visit the actual webmail site or open your mail client. Furthermore, it gets brownie points for not being named ePromptr.
When you have new messages, ePrompter notifies you via a tray icon that displays the number of messages for each account. You can also activate a screensaver that shows the same information.
What could make ePrompter even better? Well, why not turn it into a Firefox extension akin to Gmail Notifier - or offer the option of installing it as either a Firefox extension or a standalone app. Hey, ePrompter developers: you know where to look if you need help creating the extension!

Looks handy, but I can't get past all of the color-filled circles, and the screensavers look like Windows 3.1 screensavers. :-|
An alternative would be POP Peeper.

Matthew (#1) thanks fot the post about POP Pepper. I've been using ePrompter to chekc all my email accounts in the office, but it is ugly. POP pepper is 100% better than ePropomter.

@Jigsaw hc: No problem. :-) Glad you like POP Peeper.
I use it because it gets the job done, doesn't try to include every feature known to man, and basically just stays out of my way, until I've got e-mail to look at. And even then, it's a quick and easy trip to read what needs to be read, get rid of all the other junk, and then get back to business.
Sure wish some of the other software I have to use did that.

I used ePromter for a long time, I even donated $$, its like the only time I have ever done that. Its a great piece of software. I would recommend it.
But I don't use it anymore because I moved all my email accounts to gmail only.

Widows 3.11 called and it wants its ugly interface back! Anyhoo, it also messed up my GMail account by marking everything in the inbox as "unread".
Also, you know how GMail, bless its soul, will contract the message and give you a little clickable "- show quoted text -"? Well, ePrompter brings that down, just like that, only it plain old text!! Therefore, it doesn't support GMail, not really. If you use GMail and

I have used eprompter for years, and yes it isn't the prettiest thing to look at, but it has gotten the job done for me and my eleven webmail and pop3 accounts ever since I started using it. I personally preferred it over the rest, including pop peeper. IMHO, you are nuts to call this program a terrible product. I personally couldn't live without it.

I tried both ePrompter and Poppeeper 2 years ago. ePrompter had better features over poppeeper at that time (could send mails too), but I still chose poppeeper for ePrompter was way too ugly for me.
Poppeeper has evolved and has got all those features it was lacking at that time. No wonder I never looked back at ePrompter.

I seem to recall trying ePrompter about 1-2 years ago, and deciding not to use it because there was something spyware-ish about it. Sorry my memory is vague about it, and don't remember exactly what the issue was.
I'm not trying to malign ePrompter or start a flameware, but I'm curious... Does anyone know of any malware issues with it?

Looks like we're all pretty much in agreement here -- ePrompter isn't the greatest software out there. I used it very briefly but it wasn't long before it drove me up the wall so I dumped it. When I ran across this article I thought maybe I'd try it again -- and then I read the comments which brought back multi-color nightmares! Thank you for the tip re: Poppeeper because I have more email accounts than anyone I know and it's SUCH a hassle to check them all first thing in the morning, or the last thing at night.
