VoxLib launched a new VOX for Skype service
VoxLib launched a new VOX for Skype service today called VOX for Skype. This new service allows users the ability to make access and make calls with your Skype account using a mobile phone. Using VOX will work through your normal local wireless minutes account, with no additional charges, or data plan.In order for VOX to work, users would first have to download a plug-in onto their PC. There are two ways to use VOX, VOX via SkypeIn, and VOX via SMS. In order for this to work, you must have a copy of Skype open and running on a computer with access to your Skype account.
Using VOX for SkypeIn, users would call their SkypeIn number, VOX would recognize this, and give you access to your Skype contacts, cheap long distance, and any Skype voicemails.
VOX for SMS works by sending an SMS to VoxLib's SMS gateway. The SMS gateway will forward a message to your VOX application running on your PC. You will be called through SkypeOut connecting you to an open conference. Sending an empty, or "online" message from this point will allow VOX to send you a message via Skype containing your contact list, allowing you to call anyone from Skype on your mobile device.
The process sounds a little complex, and might take a few tries, so I have added a few diagrams from the Voxlib site to ensure some smooth Skyping after the jump.

With Halloween fast approaching, it's a great time to get in some practice defending your territory against zombies. In Graveyard Shift, you take aim at zombies and other creepy-crawlies, blasting them into splatters of cartoony green guts. It's a casual first-person shooter, and it's very easy to get the hang of - use the mouse to aim, click to fire. Graveyard Shift has at least 15 levels, and it might even have some secret stages I haven't unlocked yet.
They key to getting good at Graveyard Shift is learning to use ...

The big Internet players are all of the opinion that these services are only going to continue growing and at an accelerated pace.

I find it really annoying that when reading a story such as this, I click through only to discover that this is a Windows-only story. Why is the Windows tag missing from this story? It is already clear that this site is, sadly, switching more and more to Windows news, yet neglects to tag stories revealing that.
To say that more than half of your stories are about Mac, as it does in your Platforms column to the right, is a joke!
Why can't you be honest and at least let people know what they can expect here?

I just started using this service. It works just as advertised. Call quality is great. I have Alltel as cell phone carrier. I get free calls to my skype home phone number. So all calls are FREE! I wonder what it is going to cost after they start charging?
