Roxio Easy Media Creator 9 released
Roxio Easy Media Creator 9 released! The new version includes support to burn up to 50GB onto a disc, even on Blu-Ray discs. Roxio Easy Media Creator 9 now supports media for iPod, PSP, cell phones, and Windows Media compatible devices. Not clear whether this means you can save media to the correct format, or if Roxio includes a way to transfer the media as well. Secure 128-bit encryption, burning and creating an ISO at the same time, and mounting virtual CD files are now included as well. HD video support and even 16:9 DVD creation features round out version 9.[Via eHomeUpdate]

So, just how good at time waster games are you? Think you've got the stuff? Well, The World's Hardest Game 2.0 doesn't think you do.
Yes, amazingly, it's possible to have a sequel to a game called "The World's Hardest Game". It doesn't seem logically possible, since if the first one was actually the world's hardest, how could another one come along and share the moniker? It made me doubt the name in the first place. That is, until I tried the game.
The mechanics of the game are very simple. You are a small red square, ...

Unbelievable. This program added my wishlist items. I have both an Apple and a pc so I've used various roxio programs on both platforms. I've liked the friendly interface, even on windows. Ver. 9 combines some of my fav Mac programs like toast and popcorn 2. Popcorn 2 is a portable player specific program and that program has been included in 9. It has conversion tools to transfer media, photos, video, music to your ipod, cellphone, or PSP portable. I'm also psyched about the new Blu-ray disc burning function. I just bought a new dvd drive now that some movies are available in this format. I also plan to start downloading movies. Way to go roxio.

I've been looking at a few other digital media suites and some have only made some minor improvements since the last version. I can say that version 9 has made improvements and additions that make upgrades worth it. Even if you've never owned a roxio program, this is by far the easiest to use media program. You can make disks with the step by step approach. The Launcher has built in the functions and reduced the number of steps. And if you want to transfer music, video, and photos from one platform to another, this is the program. It is a one progam solution for transferring from nondigital media to the pc and portable players.

The program eliminates some common errors by narrowing the steps to complete major tasks. In other words the tasks have assistants, much like wizards, that require marking a few options. The program makes decisions based on file and disc type. Say you want a dolby stereo dvd, then the program will recognize the disc to be burned and narrow down your options. It also recognizes the audio files and knows to burn a music dvd. You can still choose a dvd for your set top instead of pc though. If you want more options, you can do more outside of the assistants.

Amazing. More programs, more features, but it remains one of the easiest programs to use.

The wait is over. At last I have an all encompassing media program. The devices plug and play support is comprehensive so I've been able to use my camera, camcorder, and cell phone with the program. It does a great job of transfering the files back and forth.

Nothing but problems with Creator 9. First it would not recognize my external hard drive for backup even though it showed it as drive G: with the space available. Then it caused windows to freeze while shutting down. Under windows explorer, when right clicking on the cd/dvd drive you can perform what you want then after exiting, mouse will not execute any applications and must turn power off since windows sutting down freezes. Lastest problem is after uninstalling creator 9, the drag-to-disc is still showing under the cd/dvd drive causing system freezes. This version is useless

Horrendous. Can't completely uninstall via the add/remove or Windows Install Utility. It doesn't show up on my Add/remove anymore. It you install and then try to uninstall, it behave like a huge chunk of memory that you can't use. Stay away.
