QTFairUse6 cracks Apple DRM
On the heels of FairUse4WM being released, QTFairUse6 was posted on the Hymn site, which is an app that will crack Apple iTunes DRM, in a similar way to FairUse4WM. According to InformationWeek, the QT version requires knowledge of the Python language, and isn't quite so easy to use as the WM one. Still, all the news of these extremely innovative tools illustrate the fact that people want their music to be free. Perhaps not all of us know the slightest bit about how to crack DRM, nor would we want to, but no matter who puts these cracking apps out there, we all want music without wires. I am willing to pay, and so are a lot of people, but don't want to be restricted, we don't want our music to be locked down.[Via InformationWeek]

What does your Mac fanboyism have to do with anything?
This article is about Apple DRM being cracked. It also states that Windows Media DRM was cracked shortly before.
If anything, it's an indicator that BOTH OS's have DRM components.

"crush Windows!"
Did you mistake DLSQ for TUAW? Perhaps you would feel more comfortable over there. I know I would.

Good news everyone. You can now pay $0.99 per song and go through that rigmarole to shed the heavy handed restriction built right into the file.
Well, sorry. That is actually good news for the ones who actually enjoy the convenience of the apple music store. Then again, if you do, are you likely to fiddles with 'knowledge of the Python language' in order to free yourself?
I enjoy DRM free CDs (I mean, used cds) or allofmp3.com's large selection of on deman, drm free, mp3.
But still DRM breakinf is still a good feat. I fear the day when it is going to be more and more difficult (with TPM and trusted computing, HDCP and crapola coming up)

The download for QTFairUse6 is nasty. There is so much bullsquat all over the download site that you cannot tell what is going on. On top of it, they SOBs are pushing what looks like teeny-bopper p0rn. Rapidshare blows chunks.
