Talkr: Convert text blogs to podcasts
Sometimes you just might want to sit back, relax and listen to your favorite blog reports instead of stare at your computer screen reading. For those times, Talkr might just be the web app for you. It lets you listen to your favorite text blog source. Talkr will not only convert them to audio, but they will create a podcast of the source, making it easier to listen wherever you are. Talkr is a pretty intuitive tool, it will also track your feeds and send the audio files directly to your computer as they become available. Talkr is free--kind of. Talkr has partnered with some well known blogs (Jeffrey Zeldman Presents, TechCrunch, and BrandShift among others) and are offering them for free. When users sign up for a free membership, they can listen to three additional blogs for free. So sit back and relax, and listen to some Download Squad care of Talkr.
With Halloween fast approaching, it's a great time to get in some practice defending your territory against zombies. In Graveyard Shift, you take aim at zombies and other creepy-crawlies, blasting them into splatters of cartoony green guts. It's a casual first-person shooter, and it's very easy to get the hang of - use the mouse to aim, click to fire. Graveyard Shift has at least 15 levels, and it might even have some secret stages I haven't unlocked yet.
