Web 2.0 logo redesign experiment

Web 2.0 has its very own special look and feel to its design, and especially its logo designs. A smooth glassy look, with brighter colors are often the easiest ways at identifying these W2 companies.
The design forum Yayhorray, has a smooth thread on right now, with members tag teaming logo redesigns of famous brands, conforming to the standard Web 2.0 style. They have done everything from Adobe and Apple, to Harley Davidson, Microsoft, Google and Adidas.
This is a nice look at how we get caught up in fads and make everything look exactly the same. Nonetheless, I think this is a great little design experiment from everyone participating over at Yayhooray.

That really is a nice thing to do. I've always argued that the best way to describe the whole web 2.0 fad is with the "Glossy effect" its leaving behind. But most of my friends defined it with craps like "branding the web" and other talks like that (o'my). In my view web 2.0 is all about alterating, ajax and other things starting with "A".

You know... icons like these more than likely would exsist if it wasnt for apple.
Innovating the "aqua" look for its os and its icons..
as well as the "wet floor" look, made famous by apple
they sure are purty tho

LOL - there is some comedy / graphic genius in there. I especially like "Fourbuck Coffee" and the "Web2.0 - Shine on you shiny table" is hillarious.

How does one create one of these cool web 2.0 designs? If I wanted to make the logo on www.wikihow.com more web 2.0'y, how would I do it?
