Phosphor - Daily Time Waster
I'm always amazed at the range of different time-wasters we've been able to dredge up, and that makes finding
something unique harder and harder. But here's something I don't think we've had before; a first-person 3D shooter, in
your browser. Yes, you read that right. Made by Rasterwerks, Phosphor is a multi-player 3D shooter that runs in your
browser, thanks to the Macromedia Shockwave browser plug-in.
The game is currently in beta, but looks pretty darn impressive when you get it up and running. Understandably, it takes significantly longer than most browser-based games to load, but considering what it is, it's not an unreasonable amount of time.

This is filed under Linux, but I'm not aware of a shockwave plugin for Linux. I do have flash for Linux though. Does anybody know where I can find shockwave for Linux?

Hi David - I made an (obviously wrong) assumption that Shockwave would be available for Linux. I'll correct the post - but if there is a Shockwave plugin for Linux, hopefully someone will post about it here!
