Origami Project: A new mystery from Microsoft
The question of the day
is, "What's origamiproject.com?" All we know is this: It belongs to Microsoft and appears to be a part of some viral marketing
campaign. Currently the web site has nothing but an ambiguous AT&T-esque message that says, "Hello. Do you know
me? Do you know what I can do? And where I can go? Or how I can change your life? You will. Learn more on
3.2.06..." There are "Week 1," "Week 2," and "Week 3" buttons, but currently only
Week 1 (the above message) is enabled. Some fingers are pointing to a similarly-named handheld prototype that
National Semiconductor demoed at COMDEX in 2001,
but I'm skeptical. Conveniently, origamiproject.com has an RSS feed that'll presumably notify you when "Week
2" is enabled. What do you think Microsoft is up to?[Via Digg]
With Halloween fast approaching, it's a great time to get in some practice defending your territory against zombies. In Graveyard Shift, you take aim at zombies and other creepy-crawlies, blasting them into splatters of cartoony green guts. It's a casual first-person shooter, and it's very easy to get the hang of - use the mouse to aim, click to fire. Graveyard Shift has at least 15 levels, and it might even have some secret stages I haven't unlocked yet.
They key to getting good at Graveyard Shift is learning to use ...

It's a spectacular marketing ploy isn't it? viral marketing at its finest. I'm intrigued though. What is it exactly. All signs point to it being a mobile networkable cell/email/etc... device of some sort. NSC's project site has a pretty picture of a orange Origami. much better than the blue one in the comdex page.

My guess...something to do with interconnectability, because of the way you have a centre circle and then many connected to it. Maybe a bunch of products and one that connects to all of them or helps each of them connect to each other... Or perhaps a central place to store information or data. Perhaps a service where you can save video to the web, then access it on your desktop computer, cellphone or Xbox 360...
Any ideas people?

It's nothing, believe me. Don't convince yourselves that companies are smart/innovative and will allow anything that is.

This is a good start for Microsoft, especially with regards to increasing it's brand and overall popularity, especially when compared to a company like Apple.
They have finally caught on to "Mystery, Intimacy and Sensuality" - which is missing from Microsoft.

based on my take after listening to Transmeta's CC last Thursday its a multimodal UPC running on a Transmeta Efficeon CPU most likely utilizing Transmetas LongRun2 energy saving anti-leakage technology to ensure ultra-long battery life.

Its the The Microsoft 'Origami' Project. An ultra portable lifestyle PC, powerful enough to play Halo on the move apparantly, equiped with GPS, WI-FI, and Bluetooth...and also touch screen....
Google it...
