Axosoft is conducting an
experiment in social marketing, so here's to it: they are giving away their OnTime 2006 app for a mere $5
donation to the American Red Cross. Even if you're no fan of the ARC (I know some people aren't, they have their
reasons), this is a pretty sweet deal. We're talking software that sells for $500 discounted 99%. So what? OnTime is a
respectable bug tracking and project management tool, with all the requisite reports and tracking tools, some cool
email alerts, and a web UI version. Those portal pages are gold when dealing with outside contractors or clients, I
tell ya. Give the demo video a look and
see if the $5 is sweet enough for your taste. Get busy though, because the offer only lasts until February 24, and is
only available via blog links. Thanks to Kevin who sent this in.$500 of project management software for $5

Think of all the free press this will generate. I will admit they are being generous. But most companies have something more than alturism in mind when the pull stunts like this.
Thus, I wouldn't call it social marketing as much as marketing via the press (or in this case blogs).

I wonder if there is a catch. It would be interesting to read the terms and agreement. And I bet upon submission, they sell your information to a dozen 3rd party companies to make their money back.
It would be a miracle if a company these days would do something like this legit.

DJ, a miracle has happened. I'm the founder of Axosoft and I can guarantee you that this offer is real and as we indicate on the site, we will be donating 100% of each $5 sale to the American Red Cross. There is no catch and we WILL NOT sell your information.
Hope that helps. :-) Feel free to contact me directly if you need. I can be emailed at hamids at axosoft.

Jnetty - You may not need it now, but if you even remotely think you _might_ need it in the future, this seems like a pretty good deal. I don't have any particular use for it right now, but I might later.
And I've spent $5 on far stupider stuff.

I have used OnTime since the first beta when it was free. I even talked with Hamid a few times on the phone. After spending lots of time using it during the beta my company purchased OnTime when it became a commercial appliaction. Axosoft is an excellent company with a great product and great support.
