There is no shortage of backup apps for Windows, that's for sure.
There aren't that many for free, however, and certainly even less that are commercial products offering an app for
free. The catch with WinBackup is this: you can get version 1.86 for free, but version 2.0 will cost $49.95. See
how it works? Get 'em hooked on the stuff then jack up the price. I'm kidding, since 1.86 is pretty good to begin with.
Personally I wish more companies would do this. Why make previous versions go away? Release them for free, and sell the
new version on the merits of better features. Unless those features are too lame to justify the cost, ahem. Adobe used
to give away limited versions of Photoshop with scanners, and I think that has paid off, because Photoshop is as close
to ubiquitous as it gets for software.Get WinBackup for free

Wow! This reminds me so much of the free backup utility that is built into Windows that I'm sure to be able to know how to use it my first time once I pay my $50 for version 2.0! Or wait, I could just keep using the windows backup and not add extra programs on my hard drive...
Truly though, the spanning feature looks nice. But since I back up to a NAS instead of DVDs, I'll stick with my built-in windows backup utility.
