Goobuntu: Google's new desktop OS?

Ubuntu LinuxThe Register is reporting that Google has confirmed it's working on Goobuntu, its own version of Ubuntu Linux. Ubuntu is a popular distribution of Linux which aims for user-friendliness, but Google is mum on what Goobuntu's purpose is. It could be they're readying in an end-user Windows replacement, or Goobuntu might be intended for internal use only. As much as I'd like to see a Google OS (doubly so an open source one), I'm gonna place my bets on the latter.
