Rumor has it Microsoft wants to buy Yahoo!. On Sunday the L.A. Times reported on "speculation" that Microsoft offered the Sunnyvale company $80 billion for a buy-out, but Yahoo! claimed it was too low. Now the speculation is that Redmond will put up a higher offer, which has caused Yahoo!'s stock to jump. Though Microsoft is starting to show signs of finally "getting" the web, I think Yahoo! would fare poorly in any deal involving them.
