Make any pic look like it came from a comic book
Here's an oldie but a goodie that's seeing new life thanks to a recent plug on "Attack of the Show." MacMerc has a great tutorial on making any photo look like it came from a comic book, along with a free Photoshop action to streamline the process. Give it a try. And if you like the comic look but want even more control over your images, check out Comic Life, a great (but Mac-only) program that has tons of effects and tools for photo-comic creation.

With Halloween fast approaching, it's a great time to get in some practice defending your territory against zombies. In Graveyard Shift, you take aim at zombies and other creepy-crawlies, blasting them into splatters of cartoony green guts. It's a casual first-person shooter, and it's very easy to get the hang of - use the mouse to aim, click to fire. Graveyard Shift has at least 15 levels, and it might even have some secret stages I haven't unlocked yet.

Cool, one of the burgeoning facets of Digital Image Rendering Technology (D.I.R.T.). This is my new anacronym for what is misleadingly called Digital Photography. Too many of my gallery visitors think that with a name that includes Photography, it should strive to be just like film.
