Adobe has posted a press release announcing that their acquisition of Macromedia is expected to close tomorrow, December 3. That means they'll have passed all "regulatory clearances," and as part of the $3.8 biliion deal Macromedia stockholders will get 1.38 Adobe shares for each of their MACR shares. What this means for the Macromedia product lines is still uncertain. don't know what to expect from this giant merger, i've been using macromedia products since long ago, just as adobe products and think that both are the best apps in their respective fields, but a merger like this one may result in the renaming and rebranding of the macromedia line of products because let's not forget, adobe is buying macromedia and not the oposite...
