Basecamp, now free for teachers
Over at the 37Signals weblog the creators of the wildly popular Basecamp (and Backpack) have decided to offer up a basic subscription to teachers at no cost. Basecamp is an easy to use, online, project management tool that has a ton of AJAX goodness to make project management easy and fun! (Did I just say fun?)As we know, many teachers are 'resource constrained' due to tight budgets, so providing free basic access to a quality project management tool for teachers from K-12 and college, is a welcome sign from a progressive company.
Basecamp, for those who haven't used it, is the big brother of Backpack. Besides for incorporating the to-do lists capabilities of Backpack, Basecamp also allows for time tracking by task and by person, as well as a decent scheduling system.
