Office 12 Beta 1 is here
If you're one of the 10,000 people lucky enough to have been granted access, you can now download Beta 1 of Microsoft Office 12 — if you can get through; last time I checked, Microsoft's beta server seemed to be buckling under the demand. The beta apparently includes new builds of some products that haven't traditionally been bundled as part of the Office suite, including Visio, Project and Groove, in addition to the core office components. Of course, by the time this goes retail, there will no doubt be a bewildering array of packages to choose from, but we certainly hope at least one includes some of those apps, and provides greater interoperability between them and Office's "traditional" programs.
With Halloween fast approaching, it's a great time to get in some practice defending your territory against zombies. In Graveyard Shift, you take aim at zombies and other creepy-crawlies, blasting them into splatters of cartoony green guts. It's a casual first-person shooter, and it's very easy to get the hang of - use the mouse to aim, click to fire. Graveyard Shift has at least 15 levels, and it might even have some secret stages I haven't unlocked yet.
