History's worst software bugs exposed
You might think the worst software bug in history is the one that caused you to lose a week's worth of work, but the folks at Wired beg to differ. They've compiled a list of what they call History's Worst Software Bugs, and most of them are real disasters. The list is headed up by a bug in the software for the Mariner 1 rocket, which deviated from course and had to be blown up over the Atlantic Ocean in 1962. The cause of the bug? A formula written on paper wasn't transcribed correctly when it was converted to code.
With Halloween fast approaching, it's a great time to get in some practice defending your territory against zombies. In Graveyard Shift, you take aim at zombies and other creepy-crawlies, blasting them into splatters of cartoony green guts. It's a casual first-person shooter, and it's very easy to get the hang of - use the mouse to aim, click to fire. Graveyard Shift has at least 15 levels, and it might even have some secret stages I haven't unlocked yet.
